Recorded across Nashville and Bakersfield with producer Nick Raskulinecz, The Nothing is Korn's thirteenth studio album and one of the most personal records the band has made, written and recorded while frontman Jonathan Davis was grieving the deaths of both his mother and his wife within months of each other. Davis has spoken openly about the album functioning as part ofhis own grieving process, and that weight runs through the record from the opening bagpipe-led "The End Begins" to closer "Surrender to Failure." The album debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 and became the band's fourteenth US Top 10 record, drawing some of the strongest reviews of Korn's later career. This edition is part of the Metal Matters campaign, bringing long out-of-print vinyl titles back into circulation.
