The recording of LSOlive presents the world premiere of Soweto Kinch's new work for jazz quartet and chamber orchestra, written in response to the Black Lives Matter movement, black British history, and lockdown era. The piece deliberately undermines expectations for orchestral music, combining its own approach of jazz and hip-hop with classical music.
